The Vans Tail Kit has really improved since I built mine. The directions are straightforward and well written. This is the logical place to start your kit plane construction.

My kit wasn’t completely match drilled, so a jig was required to ensure everything was true.  You no longer need a jig to build your parts.  But clamping them tight while riveting is still a must.

Always follow the directions provided in the kit, Vans is constantly making improvements.  Use the comments is these articles to supplement the directions.  Hopefully they will help you avoid trouble, and make the building easier and more fun.
